Bute Knocks Out Andrade in 4 rounds

Although the rematch between IBF super middleweight champion Lucian Bute and challenger Librado Andrade didn't pick up where their first fight left off, the pattern of the fight was pretty much the same.

Andrade obviously came out looking to close the distance and make it fight while Bute was content to potshot from the outside and hold on the inside. By the third round, Bute's hand speed began to take over as he started to find a home for his left hand, blasting Andrade's head backwards with blistering three-punch combinations.

Bute used every bit of the ring to control the distance and the tempo of the fight as he continued to circle on the outside and land his left hand. In the fourth, however, it appeared as though the tide was starting to turn a bit as Andrade, who was walking through every punch that Bute landed, began to find a home for his own right hand. That was until a great short left hand room Bute would hit Andrade, he drooped on the floor.

Andrade appeared to be okay as he smiled, got up and continued to press the action, but another beautiful short left to the body from Bute would drop Andrade for the count.

Official time of the stoppage was 2:57 of round 4. With the win, Bute (25-0, 20 KOs) remains undefeated and retains his IBF super middleweight title.

"Everything went as planned. I was confident from the ring of the first bell. My trainer said that I have to use my jab effectively and if I did so, he was going down," stated Bute during the post-fight interview. "I haven't felt this good in two years. What people saw tonight was the real Lucian Bute."

Mihai Leu, campion mondial la categoria semi-mijlocie, versiunea WBO, a declarat că în primul meci cu Andrade, Lucian a fost mult mai precaut, dar că acum s-a arătat mult mai decis. De asemenea, Mihai Leu s-a arătat convins că Lucian Bute îşi va îndeplini visul, şi anume acela de a boxa pe teritoriul Statelor Unite.

Tatăl lui Lucian Bute, s-a arătat încântat de rezultat şi speră că acest final de meci va spulbera orice fel de comentarii negative legate de ultima confruntare dintre Lucian şi Andrade.
